Nissan camper van concepts to debut at Tokyo Auto Salon

This year’s Tokyo Auto Salon will see the debut of Nissan’s impressive line of concept camper vans. The company is trying to take advantage of the popularity of camper lifestyle that younger people nowadays love.

The company is injecting some rugged cues to the Mountain Base concept’s aesthetics, suggesting some offroad capabilities to the van.

The design is trying to revive the faux wood trim made popular in the 50’s era of cars. But taking a look at the different areas of the van shows some panels coated in what appears to be of truck bedliner material.

The front fascia has an integrated grille and headlight guard with extra lights. The roof is equipped with an off-road light bar and solar panels that can be raised or angled to suit proper position. The side windows have also been made for more solar panel placing. Black fender flares house the vans’ off-road wheel and tire combination.

Another concept set to take debut is the Caravan Myroom concept. The exterior is pretty much the same with the addition of a custom brown and white color scheme and finished with black painted steel wheels. The concept is meant to appeal to high-style camping. Modern-looking furnishings such as cabinets and shelves in light wood finishes adorn the van’s interior.
